GraceReclaimed 2020 Christmas Trunk Show...Cancelled!

Good Day my beautiful friends and precious clients
As much as I hated to do it,
my 2020 Christmas Trunk Show had to be cancelled!

No need to bore you with the many reasons!

It was originally posted as a
 GraceReclaimed Event
on facebook (still trying to break up ;)
In case you didn't notice, I removed the event and posted this little pic, hoping all would see!

So in case you missed it ~
Or maybe you were wondering where your personal evite was ~
The song repeats...
It's just a different kind of Christmas this year!

I will miss having you all in my home,
I will miss seeing your smiling faces and
I will miss sharing a bit of Christmas with you!
It would have made this season so much brighter!!

Just remember
The one thing that has not and will not ever change
 is the reason we celebrate...

Sweet baby Jesus!

So my prayer is to see you in the new year
and that through it all,
You will remember and let your whole life sing His song!

Most sincerely and in His great gracious care, B

Welcome all you weary people...

Wow what a year...

Wow what a year like this does to people...Are you weary? I know I am!

Wow what truth comes to light...definitely reveals who you can count on, thankful for so many of you!

Our family has been challenged like many, with job loss (my oldest ~ but again employed!), transition (our teacher couple ~ slaying it!), quarantine to base (our youngest ~ finally saw him in October!) and you know, just dealing with the "new normal",  goodness I hate that term.

And while I'm at it, I HATE MASKS!  I HATE SOCIAL MEDIA!  I HATE LOSING TOUCH!

But I am also forever grateful and praising our Heavenly Father, for we are all healthy & faring well!

YES I am weary, but always hopeful.  I pray the same for you, every last one of you!

This blogger platform is an area of social media I'm still fond of, but as usual ignore during my "designing months".  And yes, thank goodness, I've been working quite steadily on two major new builds; one on Lake Conroe, one just around the corner in Tomball with a few other projects scattered in and keeping me busy.

Just a few pics for now.  On the Lake...

And just around the corner, well maybe two...

"Busy is good, right?", says the supposed to be retiring me ~ "Maybe next year", she responds.

So here it is, a bit past my usual Trunk Show planning and announcing time and I'm thinking maybe I can cram in one last show, one last sharing of the beautiful Christmas Season.  Of course the sensible side of me (yes there is on :) speaks up and says "Are you Crazy?"  RESPONSE UNNECESSARY!

So this may go down as the Last Year that Wasn't!  DarndeCovid!!

Forever HOPEFUL and most likely LAST MINUTE...If you are following the blog after my departure from good old FB...I might just pull one out of my Stocking Hat.

Stay tuned my precious people, stay well and have a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving!

Hope to see you in December!!

Most sincerely and in His wonderfully gracious care, B

P.S.  If you would like to be added to the "possible" invite, please comment below with your email,  message me at bshaw0857@gmail.com or just put your email address in the Follow by email box on this page (top right or bottom of page...either works ;)  AND BE SURE TO CONFIRM YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WHEN YOU RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM FEEDBURNER, pretty please!

New Year ~ Grace Upon Grace

2020, Day Three
2019, you flew by at record pace!
It all happened so fast~how on earth?  Ready or not here we are!

We welcomed the new year in with some great friends right here at the Old Charlton Place.

The plan was a driveway dance (no takers except St. P and me🎔),
a cozy fire, good food and great fun; all within safe driving distance for our guests!
We had a blast...
other than the game "Who am I" where everyone writes a character name on a sticky
note then places it on the forehead of another,
taking turns asking questions and trying to guess who they are!
Some smarty pants wrote Belinda Abbott-Shaw
and the antics ensued...all in good fun, RIGHT!
Oh well, I can handle it.  As a middle child my loving brother and sister
had me convinced I was adopted from a very young age!!
Anyone else have siblings like that? God love em.

So other than an few gray/thin haired pyro experts competing to see who could get the fire roaring the best, the night was the perfect way to usher in the New Year!

Did I say good food...of course!  Everyone brought some great appetizers!!
On the house menu,
(recipes requested so thought I'd share)
I tried my hand at
Garden & Gun's featured Hoppin' John (with a bit of improv of course)

I also made one of our winter favorites
I got my original recipe from Moveovermartha (Robin)
 But borrowed this from Pinterest~DeepSouthDish
 It's the easiest and yummy!

I also made this...but didn't even get it out with all the other goodies!
(and since Coxey's Army did not show up :))
Sinfully delicious...

And so it was a happy happy New Year's celebration!
Praying for you all a 2020 full of blessings in slow motion....
I wish you peace and grace upon grace!

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

Christmas Grace

Happy Christmastime friends!
Yes, it's me ~ believe it or not!
And so it is almost 12 days until the GraceReclaimed 2019 Christmas Trunk Show!
December 14th
Just took me a while to commit, imagine that?!
Thank you for your patience and graciousness!

So in the spirit of twelve days...I'll be making my list, checking it twice and counting down.
On this 3rd day of December, my true love gave to me, a partridge in a snowy wreath!
Well, actually it was the very talented Cami Boyett...I bought it and still love it!

But let's focus on the true meaning
and begin the season with this beautiful thought!

There is nothing like knowing you are under the grace of God and that His hand and favor rests on you, not because of what you have done for Him, but because of what He has done for you through that little baby born
2,000 years ago.
~Touching Lives with James Merrit~

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. . . . For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.  John 1:14-17

Stay tuned my precious friends and clients for special info and sneak peeks!

In His loving and gracious care
Most sincerely, B

Always in His grace, B

"THE GRACE OF GOD" ... So grace is favor, "unmerited favor." Salvation by Grace. Grace is, therefore, God's unmerited favor - His goodness toward those who have no claim on, nor reason to expect, divine favor.
The principal manifestation of God's grace has heen in the form of a gift.

Never in control...

If your receive this blog through email,
click here to view full blog  GraceReclaimed's Full Blog

OK, so it was brought to my small "attention span" ~ that I shouldn't tease or put things out  on the WWW. if I'm not going to do it!  Well let's just say, that's how the Shaw abode works.  If I say I"M GOING TO host something, whether it be a family gathering or a GraceReclaimed CHRISTMAS TRUNK SHOW,
me and St. P put things into high gear!!

I know I'm not alone here, #anyoneelse?!

Anyway, the gears are definitely churning, his with a bit of coaxing, the cold weather is helping and The Old Charlton Place is looking more and more like Christmas everyday.  I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but that's the way the holidays have always been around here, never too early!

And since our youngest actually gets to come home for Thanksgiving too (last minute leave approved), I want him to soak up all the season he can.

Rest assured I'm not just teasing or throwing things out to keep you guessing, because as I write life is happening around us and as you all know,
we are never really in control!

Without sharing too much, we are also sadly waiting and praying for God to lovingly heal or call Philip's dad home...our boys' precious Grandfather, Clifford Lee Shaw, the sweetest man I've ever known!  At 91, he's had several hard years, but has continued on with great determination, spunk and strength!
We love him dearly and graciously ask for your prayers!

In the midst of all this work and focus on the beautiful season coming, along with anticipation of my little family being together for Thanksgiving, again we are possibly facing another tough loss.  It is in this time of my life, missing my own parents so...that I've realized how extremely blessed I have been.
I so cherish my God and His wonderful grace!

Love on your parents while you can!
Wishing you all a blessed family filled Thanksgiving!
May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you all...forever!
So I'll let you know...that's all I can do!
Always and in God's Gracious Care, B

November showed up early, that is my excuse....

                                                                                                       View full post at GraceReclaimed.blogspot.com

Hello my friends.  Wow, it’s November already ~ how time flies on the SIDETRACK!  Goes without saying, it has been a long while since a real “Post”.  Maybe it was my baby going off to the dreaded army (mom heart draining), maybe it’s that I let life get in the way (I’m in my own way most of time), or maybe I’ve lost the blog bug
(if I truly ever had it).  BUT today I’m here again, hoping that you might be too!

Falling on my knees as we welcome November with thanksgiving and looking forward to the season of rejoicing to come!

First things first…

Update: Our youngest guy Garrison, is doing well way out in the Mojave Desert … recently promoted to Private 1st Class, so we are very proud parents!    Fort Irwin is a National Training Center where he was assigned to the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment - Blackhorse Troopers, who are stationed at the base to provide an opposing force to units on training rotation before possible deployment.  Meaning those stationed there aren’t likely to be deployed ~ much to my guy’s disappointment, but comfort to this Mom’s selfish heart.  For now ANYWAY, truly answered prayers!  Thank you so much for yours!!!

He’ll be home on leave for Christmas…man I have missed him, even if he did cause a 3rd or so of this platinum hair!!

             Isn't he andsome  ;) ?!

 Counting the days!

Speaking of counting the days and secondly,

I’m hoping you all are up for an annual GraceReclaimed Christmas Trunk Show.

Because one way or another, if I can get around myself…it will happen!

It’s beginning to look a lot like a Blue and White Christmas at the old Charlton Place,
so stay tuned!!

In God’s gracious care and feeling so very blessed, B

TRUE NORTH

If your receive this blog through email, click below

This week I said goodbye to my youngest guy, my heart!  He shipped out for Army boot camp and AIT in Fort Benning, Georgia.  Then, he’s on to Airborne Infantry training...
But this full heart of mine has to take this, HIS dream, one step at a time!

He has wanted to join and serve his country since he was 12 years old, maybe even younger.  He has talked about it and dreamed about it for the last several years as his father and I selfishly tried everything to steer him in any other direction. After a year of college and a thankfully short but crazy detour, he is now pursuing that dream of his!   And as much as this mother fought this joining, she also feels a great amount of pride in the fact that he is so determined and dedicated to doing this thing.  Knowing full well, he will achieve and succeed admirably, this almost life long goal of his.

After 21 almost 22 years of our lives holding onto him with every hard headed, good intentioned mother bone in my body; I’m having to hand this “as hard” headed, bold hearted, soulful young man to someone else.  That someone else is not the strong but sensible and compassionate drill sergeant I’ve been praying to receive him upon his arrival on base...But the one true King, his Heavenly Father, who blessed him into our lives in the first place.  The only other one I could possibly trust to lead, guide and protect him on this journey!

So there I said it, I’m handing him over to God!!  You read it here, my vow to hand him over to the One who is always standing with open arms to receive any and everything I am willing to let go.   I am vowing to do this daily, because I know each night when I lay down to sleep, I will grab with everything I’ve got in this mother’s overprotective heart & mind to take it back in worry and fret….

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22

I heard a phrase the other day and it immediately made me think of him.

True North is your orienting point - your fixed point in a spinning world – that helps you stay on track as a leader. It is derived from your most deeply held beliefs, values, and the principles you're lead by. It is your internal compass, unique to you, representing who you are at your deepest level.

He is certainly true north to me, he is a reminder of everything that is good in the world!  Not always perfect by any stretch like all of us, but constantly striving to do what is right and living for others and his God.

At his deepest level he longs to do something worthwhile, to serve in a way that will make a difference.  He kept saying he wanted to join the army for many reasons, but also to make his family proud. And we would respond, "We already are proud, but you must remember, the world is different now as is the reason for combat."

His response was always the same,
“Regardless, I’m going to hopefully help others return!”

So if I may be so bold as to ask you to pray for Garrison Lee Shaw, our youngest and truly brave guy.   The smallest thought or prayer from you, my friends will mean the world and those combined will add up to shouts to the One Most High!

I Am a Son of a King Who is Not Moved by This World.
For My God is with Me and Goes Before Me.
I do not Fear Because I am His.

Over anxiously waiting for his one phone call to tell us he is good and give us his address so we can write to him over the next 14 weeks...
UPDATE~Got an unexpected call Thursday evening, he is good, no address yet so we should get to hear his voice again in the next week or so.  I rested for a moment :)

In God's gracious care, this rambling proud of my son Mom, B
